Stop At: Forbidden City-The Palace Museum, No.4 Jingshanqian Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing 100009 China
8am (If your hotel is convenient, we may arrive earlier) your guide or driver will pick you up in your hotel lobby.
According to the passport information you provide, we will book the tickets for entering the Forbidden City in advance.
8:30am, tourists will gather at the East Gate of the Forbidden City. A tour guide will take you to the entrance of the Forbidden City (South Gate.)
The Forbidden City is the most complete and largest wooden structure in China. It is known as the “world’s fifth largest palace”.
According to its layout and function, it is divided into two parts: “outside” and “inner”. Take the Qingmen as the boundary, the south of the Qingmen Gate is the outer dynasty, and the north is the inner court.
The outer dynasty is also known as the “previous dynasty.” The emperor’s grand ceremony is represented by: the Ethereum Hall (Golden Temple), the Zhonghe Hall, and the Baohe Temple.
The inner court is represented by: the Qing Palace, the Jiaotai Hall, the Kunming Palace, the East Sixth Palace, and the West Sixth Palace on both the East and West. It is the place where the emperor and the Houyi lived, also known as the “Three Palaces and Sixth House.”
There are a large number of precious cultural relics in the Forbidden City. According to statistics, there are millions of pieces accounting for one-sixth of the total number of national cultural relics. The watch museum has a clock showing at 11am and 2pm every day, so don’t miss it.
Walking out the North Gate of the Forbidden City, you’ll pass through a street is Jingshan Park. The hill in Jingshan is the highest point near the Forbidden City. Standing at the highest point of the mountain, the entire Forbidden City will be in front of you. It is the best place to see the Forbidden City.
In the house under the hill, there is a 20-minute Chinese ceremony, you will taste Chinese tea (green tea, Pu’er tea, black tea, jasmine tea.) While enjoying the delicious tea, talk with other travelers and locals about the Forbidden City.
At about 11:30, the tour ends. Our tour guide will help you book a taxi back to the hotel (this tour does not include returning transportation), or you can wander Beijing.
Remarks:
Forbidden City is closed every Monday, if the Forbidden Palace is closed due to policy reasons, your reservation will be postponed until the next day opening day.
