Stop At: The Great wall of Jiankou, Beijing China

Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel at 8:00 AM.It takes 2 hours drive to the village and another 30 minutes walking to the wall.
The Beijing Knot is where three sections of the Great Wall intersect and provides breathtaking panoramic views that include both Jiankou and the nine-eyed Tower. After a short break, we will start the first of two rock climbs as we follow the wall. The first climb consists of loose stones and requires good balance. The second climb is a shorter but more difficult vertical climb on stable stones. Once you make it to the top, you’re reached the place where the eagle flies upside-down! After another short break, we will descend down two very steep staircases, eventually making it to TianTi (Heaven’s Stairs). Yes, we have to walk down to get to heaven!  Afterwards we will leave the Great Wall at the beginning of the JianKou section and hike through the forest and some tree groves to our pick-up point in the small village that sits in the shadow of many miles of the Great Wall (Xizhazi). From here you will be amazed looking back to what you have accomplished. This hike is for fit hikers who are not afraid of heights. Total time is 6 hours from start to finish. This hike covers quite a few of the major Wild Wall spots and is not one to be missed!    Hiking shoes with good tread recommended. Have lunch in the local restaurant after challenging hiking.
