Pass By: Great Wall at Huanghuacheng, 60 km (37 miles) N of Beijing, Beijing 102209 China

Following a pickup from your accommodation in Beijing city center, meet your private guide and hop aboard your air-conditioned vehicle, heading directly to Huanghuacheng Waterside Great Wall.

Stop At: Water Great Wall at Huanghuacheng, Huanghuacheng Village, Jiuduhe Town, Huairou District, Beijing 101404 China

Huanghuacheng is the only lakeside Great Wall in Beijing. The construction of Huanghuacheng Great Wall commenced in 1404, two years before the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644) moved its capital to Beijing, and continued for 188 years. The mountainous terrain nearby makes it strategically placed as the northern gateway to Beijing. Here you can explore the surrounding lake and participate in some water activities (at your own cost). you can chose to climb to the top, which is challenging or view the wall from the lakeside.

Next, you will stop at a local farmer’s house restaurant to enjoy a countryside style lunch. Then enjoy a 1.5 hour relax driving to the Ming Tombs. Your professional tour guide will give you an explanation of the Ming Tombs and the related Chinese history and culture on the way. You will also enjoy the beautiful countryside scenery on the way.

Stop At: Dingling Underground Palace, Ming Tombs, Changling Town, Changping District, Beijing 102213 China

Upon arrive at the Ming Tombs. You can choose to visit the Dingling or Changling at the Ming Tombs. Dingling Tomb, the only underground palace which was open to the public. Dingling is the tomb of Emperor Zhu Yijun, the longest ruling period of all the 16 Ming emperors. The construction started when he was only 22, and it took 6 years to finish. It was completed in 1590. After he died, he was buried in Dingling with his two empresses.

Changling Tomb was built in 1409, where lie the third Emperor of Ming Dynasty, Emperor Zhu Di and his Empress Xu. It is the largest, original and the best preserved among the 13 Ming Tombs.

Your guide will give a detailed stories about the Ming dynasties history and tell the life story of the owner of this tomb. You will be amazed by the complicated burial culture in the Ming Dynasty.

Afterwards, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing. (1.5 hours driving time).
