Da Dong is one of Beijing’s most famous Peking duck eateries, and with good reason: it serves one of the best ducks in town.
The skin of the duck is crispy and the meat is tasty, and each roast duck is served with an array of condiments, including sweet wheaten sauce, granulated sugar, crushed garlic, thin slivers of scallion, red turnips and cucumber. Your molasses-coloured duck is presented at your table, carved table-side, and then several duck-filled pancakes are assembled for you until your waiter thinks you’ve got the knack yourself.
In addition to the perfectly roasted duck, Da Dong also offers a wide variety of fantastic Chinese dishes, all with great presentation.
