Jinshanling great wall is a section of the Great Wall of China located in the mountainous area in Luanping County, Hebei Province, 125 km northeast of Beijing. This section of the wall is connected with the Simatai section to the east. Jinshanling Great Wall has been restored for easier climb. Visitors can hike all the way from Jinshanling to Simatai west. The Great Wall at Jinshanling has complete defensive system including barrier walls, battlement walls, watchtowers, gun emplacements, shooting holes, horse blocking walls, and branch cities.

Simatai has many characteristics of other Great Wall sections, and some unique features of its own. It is often described with the following five words: perilous, dense, diverse, artful, and peculiar. Simatai Great Wall is 5.4 km long with 35 beacon towers. This section of the Great Wall incorporated the different characteristics of each section of the Great Wall. A specialist on the Great Wall, Professor Luo Zhewen, has said that “The Great Wall is the best of the Chinese buildings, and Simatai is the best of the Great Wall.” UNESCO has designated Simatai Great Wall as one of the World Cultural Heritage Sites as part of the Great Wall World Heritage Site.

Around 7:00am pick up from hotel in downtown Beijing. We offer simple breakfast. Arrival at Jinshanling Great Wall around 10:00am. Hiking from east section of Jinshanling to Simatai Great Wall west Part. Jinshanling and Simatai Great Wall is located about 130km from downtown Beijing. The Jinshanling and Simatai Great Wall was first constructed built in the Ming Dynasty. The famous general, Xu Da, of the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) supervised and directed the construction of the Great Wall. Later, Qi Jiguang led a number of defense works while guarding the north area in 1567. The trip hike is about 6.5km and takes about 3.5 hours. Each tower has its unique feature and look. There are relatively less crowded here at Jinshanling and Simatai Great Wall, it is a nice place to explore the Great Wall in Beijing. after lunch, transferred back to downtown hotel in Beijing.
