Local tour guide and driver will pick you up from your Beijing downtown hotel, it takes around 1 hour driving from Beijing downtown hotel to Juyongguan Great Wall which is 60 kilometers away from downtown Beijing and the nearest Great Wall section from the city proper.

Situated in a valley surrounded by mountains on two sides, Juyongguan has long been a military stronghold. It was first built in the Spring and Autumn Period (770 – 476 BC) and Warring States Period (476 – 221 BC) by Yan State as a fortification. And the extant pass was built in Ming Dynasty to protect the northern borders from Mongol invasions. After climbing the Juyongguan Great Wall for 2.5 hours, drive back to downtown and drop off at your hotel to conclude the trip.
