It was destroied by two flames of war, one in 1860 and the other in 1900. It was rebuilt in 1902 by Drangon Lady Cixi for the last reconstruction. It costs 18 billions in total. It was the prison for the Emperor Guang Xu. But it was a wonderland for drangon lady Cixi.
Summer Palace is the most beautiful imperial garden still stand still. It combines all ancient garden arts of China, beautiful long corridor, pavilions, bridges and buddism temples. You will enjoy every minutes when touring it.
