Today, our tour guide will show to visit the Western Thousand Buddha Grottoes, which is a part of Dunhuang Grottoes.
The Sun Gate Pass (Yangguan Pass) initially established by the emperor Wudi of Han Dyansty, it was used to be a very important custom for thousand of years, it has buried by the sand dunes in the history, today, when still can see the site of the Yangguan Pass ,a original Beacon Tower and museum

At 8:30 am, your private English-speaking guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel to embark on a day of adventure. You will be transferred by comfortably air-conditioned private vehicle to the Western Thousand Buddha Grottoes, at 9 am , you will visit 5 different grottoes on the cliff, the cliff used to be the bank of the river, today there are only 16 grottoes remained. It was a very important Buddhism place in the past time, the travelers from western part of China,after they got the permission from the governor of Yangguan Pass, most of them would like to stop at the Western Thousand Buddha Grottoes.
When you finish visit the grottoes, you will transfer to Yangguan Pass area, first , we will show you to a local farmer’s restaurant, taste the local food and walk around in the grapes garden.
Visit the Yangguan Pass & it’s museum.it located in a small oasis named Yangguan Town, it was a main gate a China from Han dynasty till later Dang dynasty..you will see the whole scenery of this oasis.
When you finish tour, you will transfer to your Dunhuang hotel.
