Day 1: Kunming–Stone Forest –Dongchuan Red Land(L)
Stop At: Yunnan Stone Forest Geological Park, Shilin Town, Shilin County 650000 China
Your English speaking guide and private car will pick you up in your hotel’s lobby. Heading directly to Yunnan Stone Forest Geological Park which takes about 1.5 hours. On the way, your tour guide will explain the related stories, feel free to ask questions if you have. Yunnan Stone Forest Geological Park Kunming Stone Forest is a spectacular set of limestone groups and the representative of south China’s karst landscape. Since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), It is considered as the ‘First Wonder of the World’. Approximately 270 million years ago – during the carboniferous period of the Paleozoic era – the region was a vast expanse of sea. Over time, the movements of the lithosphere gradually caused a retreat of the waters and the rise of the limestone landscape. Due to constant erosion by the elements, the area finally developed into the present-day appearance. The whole park is a huge natural treasure gallery, upon arrival, follow your tour guide to use your imagination to discover the park, your tour guide will tell many legendary stories along the way, and show you the best location for photos. You will spend 2-3 hours to visit the Big Stone Forest Area and the Small Stone Forest Area.

Enjoy lunch in the local restaurant, then heading directly to Dongchuan Red Land. During 2 hours ride, relax and enjoy the countryside sceneries along the way. Dongchuan Red Land has the most typical and special red soil on Yunnan highlands. At an altitude of 1,800-2,000 meters (5,900-6,500 feet), the red soil is rich in iron and aluminum, giving it an amazing crimson color.

Upon arrival, depending on time, you will move to Luoxiagou–Sunset Valley, here is one of the best place to enjoy sunset. The scenery of Luoxiagou changes from time to time according to winds, clouds, sunshine and plants. Follow your tour guide to stroll around the area, be amazed by the stunning view and get ready your camera to capture the best moment. Afterwards, you will be transferred to your hotel in Dongchuan.

Day 2: Dongchuan- Kunming (B, L)
Stop At: Damakan Tunnel, Da Ma Kan Sui Dao, Dong Chuan Qu, Kun Ming Shi, Yun Nan Sheng, China, 655208
After breakfast in your hotel, meet your guide and start to explore. If you want to capture the sunrise, just let your tour guide know the day before to make arrangement. Damakan is the village where you can enjoy amazing sunrise. Your next stop is Seven-Color Slope where you can find seven fields with seven different colors during certain season.
Travel to Laolongshu for more photos. Laolongshu is a fir tree with an age of over 1,000 years. It is regarded as a patron saint of the red land by local people.
After lunch in the local restaurant, you wonderful tour will ends here, you can choose to end your tour in Dongchuan or return Kunming.
