Itinerary

Stop At: Songpan horse trek, outside the South Gate, Songpan County 623300 China
At about 9:00-10:00 in the morning you will be met by tour guide at your hotel centrally located in Songpan County. You will pass through the Songpan Ancient Town, climb the Dongshitou Mountain and arrive at Shangniba Village, which is built against the mountain. When reaching the river valley of the village, you will see a small but ancient Shangniba Monastery at the foot of a hill. Shangniba Monastery is a monastery of “Sakya” of Tibetan Buddhism, with less than 100 monks. After visiting the monastery, you will continue the tour to Dazhai Township and have simple lunch (Rougamo, Tibetan tea or dried noodles) in a village.
After lunch, you will visit the houses of local Tibetan people and experience their customs. At around 13:30 you will have a horseback riding down the mountain, and it takes about 1.5 hours. When arrive at the nek of Shangniba, you will change to hike down the mountain and it takes about 1 hour. Walk back to your hotel and end the tour today.
