Mount Putuo is one of China’s four famous Buddhist mountains, other three are Mt. Wutai, Mt.EMei, Mt. Jiuhua. Where is the teaching ground of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. Putuo Mount is one of the 1390 islands of Zhoushan Islands, it has a long been known as the fame of buddhist Fairyland on the Sea, spread throughout the country and even beyond.
Puji Temple is the largest temple on the island, has a history of about 1200 years. The temple can hold up more than 1000 people at the same time, it is the activity center of Mt Putuo and all the major Buddhist activities are held here.
Purple Bamboo Forest is not a forest, there is a little temple with a famous thousand armed, thousand eyed Guanyin inside.
