Stop At: People’s Square (Renmin Guang Chang), People’s Square, Huangpu District, Shanghai 200000 China

Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 09:00 a.m.. Then, we will transfer to People’s Square by public transportation and start the highlight tour.
Shanghai People’s Square is located at the very center of Shanghai and is the demarcation point of East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road. It is a flourishing place for people to look around.
Before 1949, the area of Shanghai People’s Square and the People’s Park was used as a famous horse racetrack which was built in 1861, honored as the ‘No.1 Racetrack in Far East’. Visitors still can find the ruins for the former main building standing at the northeast part of the People’s Square.
We will see many scenic spots around people’s square, such as the new Municipal Government Mansion, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Grand Theater, Shanghai History Museum and Mu’en Church.

Shanghai History Museum is located in People’s Square area, it is large Museum of Shanghai local history. Dedicated to the history of Shanghai, the museum houses more than a thousand relics and chronicles 6000 years of history from the region. If you have ever wondered what Old Shanghai was like, you can find the answer at Shanghai History Museum. Divided into two sections – Ancient Shanghai and Modern Shanghai, the museum traces the political, social, economic and cultural evolution of the city from 4000BC to the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949.

We will admire the facade of Shanghai Grand Theater.
Shanghai Grand Theater is uniquely designed and beautifully shaped. It combines western and Chinese architectural styles perfectly. The white arched vault sets off glass curtain walls like a crystal palace.

Stop At: Mu’en Church, No.316 Xizang Middle Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai 200000 China

Mu’en Church is located on Xizang Zhong Lu, in the middle of department stores right across from People’s Square. It was formerly named the Moore Church to memorize the great American donator Moore. The church was a new gothic church designed by a European architect – Laszlo Hudec. It features a brick-and-wood structure. It has a big lobby, and the central part is the main body of the church. The rectangle pillars in the hall, the balusters in the balcony and the bema are covered with artificial stones. The concrete ribbed vault can be seen inside the church.

Then, we will walk around Nanjing Road, explore surrounding communities and the thinnest building.

Nanjing Road is considered to be the ‘No. 1 commercial street in China’, which has been a landmark for this city for a long time. Along its 5.5 kilometers, you will find over 600 shops that on average are visited by some 1.7 million people each day. Here, you can purchase everything wanted, spanning from special and cheap souvenirs to the luxurious world famous brands. You can also visit the surrounding neighborhoods and the thinnest building.

The thinnest in Ningbo Road is known as Paper Building(纸片楼).
The building was once reported by British Daily Mail, stated as perhaps the world’s flattest and thinnest building. Standing diagonally in the front of the the building, it just looks like a piece of paper. The old house had four floors, not all that thin; it takes the shape of triangular polygon. This novel and strange building still has a large number of residents.

Then, we will transfer to Yuyuan Old Street and enjoy a traditional Chinese dim sum – Xiaolongbao for lunch.

Shanghai Old Street, historically called Miaoqian Dajie, is an old business street that has a combination of tourist attractions, shops, entertainment and cultural exhibits. It owes its special social attractions and rich commercial background to the fact that the earliest bank, gold shop, jeweler’s store, wine shop and tea house of the city were all to be found here. Visiting the old alleys of Shanghai is a great way to discover the traditional culture of this city and experience the real life of the Shanghainese.
We can walk to the Zigzag Nine Bend Bridge. Chinese people believe that the number nine symbolizes auspiciousness. Walking across the Bridge is said to bring people good luck. The Bridge leads to Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse, which is the oldest teahouse in Shanghai.

Then, we will transfer to Pudong to see Shanghai’s financial district and visit Shanghai World Financial Center.

As a new and bustling district, Pudong offers visitors some of the most modern attractions, businesses, skyscrapers and shopping malls, all featuring the latest in entertainment, technology and fashion.
We will walk along Lujiazui Ring Bridge which is good place to photograph skyscrapers.

Stop At: Shanghai World Financial Center, Building 1, No.100 Century Ave, Pudong New Area, Shanghai China

Standing in the center of Lujiazui in Pudong and neighboring Shanghai Tower and Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC) is the second tallest skyscraper in the city up to now. From the exterior, the structure looks like a bottle opener and that’s exactly its nickname.
For tourists, it’s more of a hot attraction featuring the sightseeing observatories.
Three observation decks offer different experiences at the 94th, 97th, and 100th floors. The 100th floor is the highest observatory in the world, with transparent glass-walled walkways.

Stop At: Riverside Promenade (Bingjiang Da Dao), Bingjiang Dadao, Shanghai China

Then, your guide will show you around Shanghai Binjiang Avenue built in 1997 and located at the east bank of Huangpu River and it’s praised as the new Bund of Pudong. It integrates sightseeing, leisure and relaxation, focusing on the urban ecological environment and functions. Walking on the broad Binjiang Avenue,overlooking the panorama of the Bund, listening to the melodious whistle on the Huangpu River, is a rare quiet and comfortable life in the heart of the metropolis.

Then, we will transfer to Tianzifang and visit local wet market.

Stop At: Tianzifang, Tianzifang, Shanghai

Tianzifang, which used to be industrial area, is now a fashion landmark with many lanes. You can walk through the old alleys to see what the folk houses looked like in early 20th century Shanghai with dormer windows, red tiles, green moss on the walls, and so on. Moreover, losts of restaurants and fashion boutiques can be found here, making it a nice place to enjoy delicious food and shopping.

Stop At: Taikang Road, Shanghai China

We will visit Taikang Wet Market where the locals shop for their groceries. You’ll notice that the markets in Shanghai have a lot of ingredients which aren’t used outside of China, and your guide will help you explain what everything is.

Then, we will wander in the Bund and admire the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles and skyscrapers along the Bund.

The Bund is a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai. Here, the charm of Shanghai as a bustling metropolis combining the century-old history and flourishing future is fully presented, making the Bund Shanghai a must-see attraction. We will see the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles at the Bund. Such as Peace Hotel(Heping Fandian), Shanghai Customs House and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. We also can appreciate skyscrapers across the Huangpu River.

We will see the Bund City Sculptures, Monument to the People’s Heroes, Huangpu Park and Waibaidu Bridge.
