The Seven Treasures Town (Shanghai Qibao Ancient Town) is famous for its old streets, which were once named as the Ding’s Farmstead in the ancient Chinese Dynasty of Han. In the early days of the Song Dynasty, the Seven Treasures Temple was moved to the place and the town was renamed as Seven Treasures Town just same as the temple. Moreover, a legend said that the place was so named because it possessed the following seven treasures – the Gold Lotus Scripture, the Magic Tree, the Big Bell Floated from Afar, the Buddha Flown over from Afar, the Gold Cock, the Jade Chopsticks and the Jade Axe. The town was reconstructed with huge amount of money in 2000 and was transformed into a great tourist resort once again.
