Stop At: Qiao’s Family Compound (Qiao Jia Dayuan), Qiaojiabao Village, Dongguan Town, Pingyao County 030901 China
Your tour guide will pick you up in the lobby of your Taiyuan hotel by hold your name sign, hop on your private air-conditioned vehicle, heading directly to Qiao Family Compound.
Enjoy lunch in the local restaurant, then heading to Qiao Family Compound.
The Qiao Family Compound is the former residence of Qiao Zhiyong, the third-generation commercial tycoon of the Qiao family in Shanxi Province. He attained his fortune by running banks, pawnshops and teahouses.
The entire courtyard consists 6 main courtyards and 20 smaller ones, with 313 rooms altogether. Follow your tour guide to go up to the pavilion where you can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the entire complex.
Then, stroll around the halls and courtyards with your tour guide to enjoy fine Qing Dynasty style architecture and amazing brick carvings. The carvings were based on figures, allusions, flowers and plants, birds, beast, chess, and painting and calligraphy.

Stop At: Pingyao Confucian Temple, In Ancient City of Pingyao, Pingyao County 031100 China
Afterwards, heading to Pingyao Confucian Temple. Founded as early as in the Tang Dynasty (618 – 908 AD), Pingyao Confucian Temple is one of the oldest and currently the best-preserved of its kind in China. Stroll around the courtyards and halls with your guide, get to know Confucius (551 – 478 BC), who is a famous philosopher, educator and the founder of the Confucian school.

Finally, visit the museum of the first bank in China. Come in to see the details of the bank museum, and learn the wise of the bank running from 150 years ago.
