What to Expect When Visiting Xi’an, Shaanxi, China
This private tour is suitable for those tourists who like outdoor activities. On this tour, you will be able to climb Mt. Huashan, one of the famous Five Great Mountains in China.
Pick up from your hotel will be at about 8:30am in the morning; it takes approximately 2 hours driving from downtown Xi’an to the entrance of Mt. Huashan.
Mt. Huashan is known as “The Number One Precipitous Mountain under Heaven.” The mountain is one of the Five Sacred Taoist Mountains in China, and has a long history of religious significance. The mountain has five main peaks, of which the tallest is the South Peak at 2160 meters. This peak also has a well-deserved reputation as having the world’s most dangerous hiking trail.
You will take the cable car up to the north peak of Mt. Huashan, from which you will start to climb the mountain on foot. Your local guide will climb with you together for about 1 hour. You will then be free to explore and climb the mountain on your own for a few hours, and afterwards meet at the appointed destination point.
Once the group meets back up, you will head back down the mountain and drive back at around 4:30pm to arrive at your hotel in Xi’an after 6:30pm where this day tour concludes.
