Stop At: Farmers’ Caves, Xi’an China

You will visit the local Farmers’ Cave home. Such dwelling form was widely popular dating back to 19th in rural places where mountains were literally everywhere. Local people came up with an idea of building houses upon the mountain. It turned out that this was a great idea as the cave is very cool in hot Summer and pretty warm in Winter. However, this kind of house is extremely dangerous especially when it comes to rainy days. Therefore this form of residence was foregone. In this short tour, you will visit a local family and see what it looks like.
